CSGO Success: Team Heroic

CSGO saw the rise of teams over the years since it was first released in 2012. It has met great success and a lot of teams showed the world that they can stand as the lead players of the game.

For starters, CSGO is a competitive game, and as a team-based shooter, that means you should get to see a lot of those big teams in most tournaments. There are two factions in the game. The attacking side is the Terrorists and the defending side is the Counter Terrorists. This only means that there are a lot of times where teams can get to play both sides in a match

The terrorists plant a bomb on a specific bomb site on the map. They must ensure that the bomb will blow before the round timer runs out or they get taken out by the Counter Terrorists.. The team must ensure that the bomb will blow before the round timer runs out or they get taken out by the defending squad. Also, they can take out all of the enemies on the other side and that counts as a win as well.

For the defending team, defusing a bomb will serve as an easy win. That means they have to wait for the other side to plant the bomb before moving in to defuse the bomb. At some point, there are also hostage rescues where the CTs must rescue at least one to win the round.

The gaming community loved the way that the game is presented, especially with those free CSGO skins. Many great teams in the history of the game rose to prominence and one of them is Team Heroic.

Overview of Team Heroic

Team Heroic was founded in 2016 and worked their way up to the top real quick. The team has seen a lot of success over the years which turned them to a real contender in the game. So far, Team Heroic delivered some fine runs in their stint and is currently ranked at the top four in the HLTV rankings.

Team Heroic boasts a lineup of Martin ‘stavn’ Lund, Johannes ‘b0RUP’ Borup, Casper ‘cadiaN’ Møller, René ‘TeSeS’ Madsen and Nikolaj ‘niko’ Kristensen. Team coach Nicolai ‘HUNDEN’ Petersen is currently suspended due to a ban issue, but then the team has managed to stay alive in the top five standings so far.

Since winning in the DreamHack Open Fall 2020 in October, the team has struggled to finish strong in their next four tournaments. Team Heroic ended up with three 5th to 8th place finishes while coming up with the 3rd to 4th finish in the Elisa Invitational Fall 2020.

Heroic is known for their great ability to go clutch in some games, moving with such speed and precision. However, the team tends to run around the map and fails to check those blind spots and other angles. This unique style allows TeSeS to rotate with quick speed when needed.

So far, Team Heroic is not slowing down on their pace even without HUNDEN. That means a lot for their pace in 2021 where the team hopes to finish bigger and do better in their games. Building up in the closing tournaments of 2020 could well be the answer to their desire to grow as a strong unit.

Heroic began as a team built on friendship and love for CSGO. A lot of top tier players have seen action under the team’s banner and have developed well over the years. They pride their love for the game and that still remains as the core values for the team.

Recent Success

Apart from their struggles in the past few tournaments, their win in the DreamHack Open Fall 2020 proved to be the best run they had. So far, Team Heroic continues to show why they really belong in the top tier, and you can say that the team has done well in proving the world.

The team first won over North in the lower bracket round one with a score of 2-0. Heroic then went on to deliver a strong push over Sprout and won in a 2-1 affair and finished off BIG with the same score.

Heroic then came off with a win over Ninjas in Pyjamas to move to the upper bracket final, where they went on to face Astralis in an intense showdown. Finishing 2-1 against a team that has won a lot of titles proved to be a big feat for Heroic, and that was a stinging win for them as they escaped en route to the final.

The final against Team Vitality proved to be a showdown to remember. Heroic lost the first map by just two points before winning in Nuke and Inferno to grab a 2-1 lead. However, Vitality tied the score in a win at Vertigo.

Heroic then claimed a strong victory to finish off Vitality in Mirage with a score of 16-7. Heroic's long-awaited win proved to be one of the most impressive finishes made in 2020.

Team Heroic could well be the best team in CSGO if they get back into top shape along with HUNDEN’s return. It seems that the team can actually make a push for the top spot in the HLTV rankings and it would only take a bigger effort for them to make it happen.

So far, Heroic has already shown that they can go up even against the best teams that the CSGO community has seen. Beating the likes of Astralis, Vitality and NiP could prove well to be the statement that the team wanted to make in a very long time.
