Why karrigan and the rest of FaZe Clan can win a Major in 2021

A Major win for FaZe Clan is long overdue since their inception in 2016. Their current team led by Finn ‘karrigan’ Andresen can fulfil the Major dream in 2021. They have world-class talent in their lineup and they are led by the in-game leader that they have needed. 

FaZe is usually known as a superteam that is filled with talent. Their prime was back in 2017-18 when they had the superteam that had the likes of Olof ‘olofmeister’ Gustafsson, Ladislav ‘GuardiaN’ Kovács and Nikola ‘NiKo’ Kovač who were all considered the best player in the world at one point in CSGO’s past. 

Despite coming in as favourites in the 2018 Boston Major, their performance was disappointing. As expected, they made it to the final where they faced an underdog Cloud9. The North American team pulled away with the victory, surprising the esports world to the delight of brave free CSGO skins bettors who favoured C9. 

Nowadays, FaZe still seeks the elusive first Major title for the team five years into their presence in the CSGO scene. It is a hard game to win in but with the players that they have, you can expect that this team will be able to win a Major based on their lineup on paper.

With karrigan returning to FaZe, they have the tactical genius that they have needed ever since the Dane’s first stint with the club ended. A quick glance at their lineup will show that there are many talented players in the lineup. 

With superstars like Marcelo ‘coldzera’ David and Russel ‘Twistzz’ Van Dulken in the lineup, you can expect that this squad has some explosive potential. With an IGL like karrigan, you can see this team going up against the best teams in the world like Astralis. 

Karrigan is an IGL who likes to create set strats for every map that they play. He made his name by making these plays for his former teams which led to reasonable success. Karrigan has history of success in CSGO pro scene with the likes of Team SoloMid turned Astralis, Mousesports and FaZe. 

Before karrigan re-joined the team, FaZe was toiling as a mid-level team when NiKo was their IGL. The Bosnian star is a superstar talent but his best role is playing on his own rather than leading the rest of the team. That is a common event in esports as many players are skilled but they are not able to lead a team properly because the best impact that they can make is through their play.

Karrigan is a player who loves to communicate and lead his team. Commentator Alex ‘Hawka’ Hawkins has talked about how important karrigan is to a team.

On Twitter, Hawka wrote, ‘karrigan is such a good igl even a rumour of him joining your team will instantly make you better’.

Explosive talent

Coldzera and Twistzz are the obvious stars of the team because they have achieved so much success in the past. The Brazilian has won two Majors in his career and was once known as the consensus best player in the world. He is still a solid player who can affect the game with his skills on both the rifle and the AWP. 

However, most people are pointing out that Twistzz is the true star of the team. As the centrepiece of Team Liquid in the past, the Canadian was one of the best players in the world. He was a big reason why Liquid won the Intel Grand Slam in 2019 as he was just too good on the rifles and his chemistry with his teammates. 

FaZe is looking forward to Twistzz reliving his Liquid days with FaZe as he is in a good situation again. Even coldzera has talked about his Canadian teammate and how he will be the team’s star. 

Cold said,‘Twistzz has been a good addition, both as a person and as a player, helping the team to make better rotations, helping with tactics and bringing new things to the team… We put him in the star role in the team, to make him more comfortable. I'm sure he will do very well’.

An underrated player in the lineup is Helvijs ‘broky’ Saukants who is not known as a big star but he is a consistent player for FaZe. He already has a year under his belt with the team and he is now a reliable player. Many fans have compared him to Astralis’ Andreas 'Xyp9x' Højsleth who is one of the most respected players in the scene.

Rain is the x-factor

Despite the number of stars on the team, there is always one player who has remained loyal to the FaZe org. This is Håvard ‘rain’ Nygaard who has seen many players come and go in his time with FaZe. He has been with FaZe ever since its inception back in 2016 and he has consistently played his role well. He was a fan favourite for free CSGO skins betting in the past as he was a star player.

He will be a player to watch as he is one of the most consistent players in the world. If he plays at an even higher level, you can easily see FaZe winning every game that they play. You can call him the barometer of the team which is perfect for his role. 

There are so many aspects of the game that are going in FaZe’s way. The only factor that they have to adjust is that they should remain consistent. It has been a problem for FaZe teams in the past to fall off during big events and with the quality of this squad, you can expect them to not be complacent. It will be fun to watch this FaZe as they have a good mix of talent and chemistry.
