Basics of the game and symbols to know

Push Gaming’s Samurai's Katana slot game occurs in a fictional setting where sci-fi samurai roam the streets and defend the town. Upon opening the game, you’re greeted by neon pink streets and a blue grid with 5 reels, 4 rows and 20 paylines.

The main grid also houses the game’s low-paying and high-paying symbols which look like high-ranking cards and in-theme illustrations respectively. There are also bonus symbols in this game, such as the wild, instant prize and scatter symbols.

Wild symbols

The Wild symbol is a pair of dual swords with the letter ‘W’ in front of it. It can substitute for all paying symbols in the game except for the scatter, gamble scatter, and instant prize symbols.

Wilds can also come in the worm of wild stacks which appear as a gold mask with 4 horns and the letter ‘W’ on the forehead. Wild stacks are stacks of 4 wilds in one icon that help form more winning combinations.

Both wild symbols will only appear on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th reels of the base game while they can appear on any reel during the free spins feature.

Instant prize symbols

Instant prize symbols appear as coins with values ranging from 1x to 1,000x. These symbols act as multipliers and can land on all reels during both the base game and the free spins.

These symbols contribute to your payout when matching combos land with at least 2 wild symbols on consecutive reels. The matching combinations can be made from left to right and vice versa.

Scatter symbol

Last are the game’s and gamble scatter symbols, which appear as intricate white and red masks. While the scatter symbol only lands on the leftmost reel of the game, the gamble scatter lands on the rightmost reel.

Once the gamble scatter is on the reels, it will spin all the potential free spin prizes within the gamble scatter’s position on the grid.

Features to expect in Samurai's Katana

Once you spin the reels, opportunities from features like nudging wilds, the gamble feature and free spins can be triggered.

The game’s nudging wilds feature is activated when a wild stack lands on the grid. As it lands on the grid, it causes the icon to nudge in one position while the other reels will keep spinning. This feature will keep going until the symbol is completely out of the grid.

The gamble feature is activated when you land both the scatter symbol and the gambler scatter. While this feature is active, prizes from the gamble scatter can be surrendered for the chance to win even bigger prizes.

When you participate in the gamble feature, the gamble wheel will spin and land on various segments like free spins prizes, no prize, or a wild stack segment. These prizes can come from one of the bigger free spin prizes of wild stacks with:

• Starting multipliers ranging from 3x to 100x
• Wild stack prizes ranging from 1 to 3 that are guaranteed

Lastly, the free spin feature can be activated from the free spin prizes within the gamble feature.

This feature will fill the 2nd and 4th reels with wild stacks and multipliers corresponding to the amount awarded by the free spins prize. Wild stack symbols will nudge down by 1 space during each spin. As those symbols nudge down, the multiplier level meter starts to rise. You’ll need 5 nudges to get to the next value.
