Choosing the best Liga ACB teams to bet on

The Liga ACB is one of the hottest leagues in Europe. Spain’s premier basketball league has been all about intense action and big battles all around. Punters have taken interest in this league since it offers a unique but intense action aside from other top leagues such as the NBA and EuroLeague.

The Liga ACB has been making a lot of noise on its own. The Spanish League has been the host of many big basketball events in the country, and even that says a lot about the way the league has dominated most of the basketball scene there.

A lot of people ask which countries have the best basketball leagues because they want something far from the NBA - which has been the common pick for betting at most. This only shows how other leagues are favourable as betting markets as well.

The Liga ACB proved to be one of the most versatile basketball leagues in Europe. A lot of players have thrived well in the Liga ACB and some of them got lucky to make it to the NBA. Why team rankings matter in betting

The Liga ACB is a tough league to bet on, not because it is hard to get a lot of winnings, but the teams here are insanely competitive to the point that team rankings are close most of the time. There are rarely big leads from the top spot all the way to the fifth spot.

Top basketball leagues usually have a wide margin when it comes to their leagues standings. That makes the Liga ACB entirely unique on its own, and it is tough to get the right wagers in a league that presents a tight competition most of the time. Some people question which countries have the best basketball leagues, and the Liga ACB alone stands as a huge league with teams from that play in other contests such as the EuroLeague.

Team rankings determine how a team has a chance to win in their games. A certain club that sits above other teams in the league have a much better chance of winning the league title at the end of the season. That does not guarantee a title win though since there are still upsets.

On that note, it is best to always have a wide array of teams to wager on. Most Liga ACB fans know that they have a lot of teams to consider, which makes it easy since the list is narrowed down to just a few teams who consistently make it to the playoffs.

Here are some of the best teams that punters should consider in their wagers:

Real Madrid

Real Madrid is one of the founding basketball clubs in the Liga ACB. They also play in the EuroLeague and have been the image of success in the sport as well. Along with the Real Madrid football team, the franchise has been the core of sports in the nation, which makes them a top pick in betting right away.

The Blancos have won a total of 35 Spanish League titles, and they have done so going for seven in a row and even 10 in a row at two points back then. They have also won a record of 28 Spanish Cup titles, 10 EuroLeague titles, and four Saporta Cups.

There are a lot of talents that have hailed from the Blancos over the years. Names such as Arvydas Sabonis, Dražen Petrović, Rudy Fernández, and Serge Ibaka have all made names in the NBA and the international level. Luka Doncic is currently on his pace to become the next big talent in the NBA that hailed from the same club as well.

Real Madrid leads the ACB for the 2021-22 season with a record of 17-4 in 21 games played. They are gunning for a league title once more after missing out on the last two seasons especially in their 2020-21 loss to Barcelona.

Barcelona

Barca stands as the best team in the Liga ACB with the most number of league titles won at 19. They have been runners up 13 times as well, making them the winningest team in the whole league. Founded in 1926, Barca is also the oldest club in the whole Liga ACB.

The club has won the Spanish Cup 27 times as well. They have logged six titles in the Spanish Supercup while going for two EuroLeague titles. As one of the faces of the Liga ACB, Barca’s success can be seen as a huge leap to keep the competitive brand of the league.

The likes of Pau Gasol, Rony Seikaly, Marc Gasol, and Anderson Varejão are all known names in basketball thanks to their success in Barcelona. So far, the expectations for the club has been extremely high. They are the defending champions of the Liga ACB and also came close to winning the EuroLeague title in 2021 against the Anadolu Efes.

Barca stands with a 14-3 record in 17 games played for the 2021-22 season. They are hoping to make it back to back after closing down their rival Blancos in the final.

Basquet Manresa

Manresa is one of the late clubs in the Liga ACB. The club was founded in 1931 and has gone through four name changes as well. While the first two teams play in the EuroLeague, Manresa, on the other hand, plays in the Basketball Champions League instead.

Manresa has never won a league title for 24 years, only coming up with a win in the Liga ACB in 1998. The long drought is still standing there and so far, Manresa has improved in the past few years. However, they are yet to reach the final since 1998, so it would be a long shot for Manresa to make history sooner or later.

That dream isn’t far from reality. After a lot of tweaks in the roster and coaching staff, the club has made its way into the top 10 of the league table. In the 2021-22 season, Manresa sits just a few games back from Real Madrid and Barca in the third spot with a 14-7 record.

Valencia Basket

Valencia Basket is the seventh oldest team in the Liga ACB, spending a total of 31 seasons in the top tier basketball league. While they have spent a long time in the league, the club has only won one league title - which was just in 2017. Other than that, Valencia has been slacking off in the past few years that they have been in the ACB.

The team has won the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Supercopa once, and the EuroCup four times. There are a lot of expectations for Valencia Basket over the years, but the team has failed to blow past the early rounds of the playoffs despite being consistent.

Valencia hopes to make the most of their chances this season. No matter how many basketball leagues are there for them to join, the team wants to get a chance at the Liga ACB title.

Club Joventut de Badalona

Joventut is known for its consistency in the Liga ACB over the years. It is one of the two teams in the league to have never been relegated into the second division, with the other being Real Madrid. This makes them an icon in the league despite not being one of the best champions as well.

Joventut was the champion of the FIBA European Champions’ Cup in 1994, which is now known as the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. They are the first Catalan basketball team to make that feat and the first Spanish team to ever make it in the Final Four format.

The club has won the league title four times while falling short 10 times. Joventut has sealed the Spanish Cup eight times and the Spanish Super Cup twice. The success of Joventut and their consistency over the years made it clear that they deserve so much praise for their sheer dominance in the Liga ACB.

Joventut sits at the sixth spot in the 2021-22 season and they have managed to claw their way there with 11 wins and eight losses off 19 matches so far.

Ucam Murcia

Ucam Murcia is not one of the pure teams who have been in the ACB for its whole run. They started out in 1986 in the second Division before breaking their way into the top tier. They spent six seasons in Liga ACB before being relegated with a 6-32 record and soon went up and down from the first to second tier in the next few years.

The club went through a full rebuild in the 2010s and found their way back to the Liga ACB as well. They have been gunning for the league title ever since and had a 12th place finish in the 2020-21 season with a 16-20 record.

So far, those hopes are looking good for Murcia this time around. The team sits at the seventh spot in the Liga ACB with a 10-8 record coming off 18 games. Their hopes of winning a league title soon is what makes them a favourite after some hot runs early this year.

As the 2021-22 season goes, teams will surely do all they can to keep on pushing for a league title. Each club has its reasons to be desperate for the league title, and that makes the competition even better than ever.

For punters, knowing which teams to bet on is a good note. Narrowing it down can be a big help, and a lot of bettors know that it is best to have options as well. This is what makes betting in the Liga ACB a fun experience as well.
