When talking about weapons in CSGO, most people think about the guns. However, knives are actually the most visually-appealing weapons in the game. This is largely due to the skins, which is why we need to talk about the best looking ones in the game.
You might already be familiar with knives in CSGO but there are some who are not. Basically, you start a CSGO game with two default weapons. You spawn with a starting pistol and a knife. The pistol will vary if you are playing on the Terrorists with the Glock-19 or Counter-Terrorists side which has either the USP-S or the P2000.
The knife is the weapon that will always stay with you as it is not droppable unlike the starting pistols. It is mostly used for the movement because when you have the knife out, you will have the best possible move speed in the game. Of course, the downside to that is that you are vulnerable to being caught without a weapon.
However, the knife’s offensive use is uncommon because you have to sneak your way to the back of the opponent and then hit the right-click for a one-shot frag. That is rare because you are typically seen by the opponents and this is possible only when the opponent does not hear the audio cues or is just so focused on watching one spot.
Of course, when you talk about the esports side of things, they have more use of the knife. This is because they have knife rounds to decide who will choose their preferred side. It will be a five vs five round where no one will use anything but their knives. This is where some technique comes in because the most efficient way of using the knife in a round like that is pressing left click two times and then a finishing blow with the right click.
Since the knife is the only weapon that stays with a player for the entire game, there was high demand for it to look good. This led to both the knife skins and the variations that we see today. At the time of writing, there are now 18 variations of the knife which include the classic skin that all players have.
Here are some of the most prolific variations of knives and their best skins.
Butterfly Knife
This type of knife is an extremely rare item that you do not typically see in your free CSGO skins. This is because the Butterfly knife is only available when you open the Operation Breakout Case. It has a unique draw animation when the player flicks the knife open but there is also another instance where the player spins it open.
Of course, that can come in with any skin variation of the knife but the most popular will have to be the Marble Fade edition which has a mix of red, blue, and yellow all over. The Doppler skin is also famous for the Butterfly and both of these skins cost a lot on the market.
Huntsman Knife
The Huntsman knife is one of the biggest variations. This is a famous variation because of both its size and the skins that it comes with. Your typical Fade and Doppler are still with this knife but the biggest draw would have to be the Crimson Web as the sksin looks really good with the all-red look.
Karambit
Probably the most popular model, the Karambit is one of the most popular versions of the knife because of its sleek design and the flashy animations. When a player uses the Karambit, you have access to the draw animation. This involves some twirls over the hand which looks cool for the majority of the player base.
As this is one of the most prolific skins, it has rare skins as well. The usual Fade skins are still there but the Autotronic and Lore skins are unique because of their colours and patterns that differentiate them from any other skin.
Shadow Daggers
Probably the most unique variation of the knife skin. The Shadow Daggers are drastically different from the previous versions that we have talked about. This is because the overall aesthetic of the weapon is not your typical one-handed knife. This is a knife that needs two hands and the push dagger look has been a hit with CSGO players.
It does not have the unique skins like the Karambit but it remains a fan favourite with the Doppler, Ultraviolet and Case Hardened.
Falchion Knife
As the name suggests, the Falchion Knife is like a small sword. It looks very sharp but the aesthetic choice here is that the hilt is much more prominent compared to the other versions. If you use a Falchion Knife, you will see that the skins extend up to the hilt which makes it more pleasing to the eye especially when one is using the Marble Fade skin.
Flip Knife
Last but not least comes the Flip Knife. Second only to the Karambit, this is probably one of the most popular versions of the knife. It is a folding knife which is great because there is a drawing animation where the player removes it from its folded state.
Just like the Karambit, this also has some unique skins attached to it. The Lore and Autotronic make a return as they look amazing. However, the most eye-catching skin will have to be the Gamma Doppler skin as it is a Blue and Teal combo which is different from all of the knife skins in the game.
