Best teams to root for in EPIC CIS League Spring 2021

CSGO is a very busy eSports avenue for players all over the world, and it is no surprise that there are so many teams out there who still keep on fighting to win. With the EPIC CIS Spring 2021 in play, it is easy to expect that there are bigger twists and turns in play as well.

With the CSGO world fixed on the ongoing CIS tourney, it would be wise for many players to root for some of their favourite teams. As it keeps on getting better CIS would surely give us some of the best runs and games that 2021 is yet to come up with.

The past few tourneys are already full of big stories, and it continues to be the same with the CIS League doing its part to hype so many players and fans all over the world. This means a lot about the chances of making history for each team that plays in the contest.

Some of the best teams in play at the CIS are the likes of Natus Vincere, Team Spirit, and Gambit Esports. They are the hottest squads in the contest and it only means that they are the best picks to win the tourney while taking home the big winnings. While there are no free CSGO skins to win in the tourney, the glory and bragging rights remain precious for most teams.

Natus Vincere

Natus Vincere means ‘born to win’ in Latin. The team name is often shortened to NAVI and formerly Na’Vi (in reference to the alien race in James Cameron’s Avatar). The Ukrainian pro team is one of the headliners for this big and intense contest.

Na’Vi is the first team to ever win three CSGO Majors in just one year. They aced the IEM Season IV, ESWC 2010, and WCG 2010 in one blow. That has put them at the top of the CSGO ranks and are seen as one of the leading contenders one year after another.

The team is set to face Akuma in the Upper Bracket of the first round. They have a much better chance of winning over them this time as are riding a hot streak heading into this tourney. The roster has been very efficient so far, and one can say that they are ready to take over this contest at the very least.

The team is set to field the likes of Egor ‘flamie’ Vasilev, Oleksandr ‘s1mple’ Kostyliev, Denis ‘electronic’ Sharipov. and Kirill ‘Boombl4’ Mikhailov. They also have players at the ready as reserves for the coming matches. Ilya ‘Perfecto’ Zalutskiy and Valerii ‘B1T’ Vakhovskyi are on the backup list while Andrii ‘B1ad3’ Gorodenskyi serves as the team’s coach.

Team Spirit

Team Spirit is one of the surprise contenders for the CIS tourney since they were a lowly team just a few months ago. Aside from CSGO, the team also has rosters in other big eSports such as Hearthstone and Dota 2.

The Russian team was founded in 2015 and has been riding a hot pace to enter 2021. They first won in the DreamHack Open January 2021 in Europe, beating FunPlus Phoenix in just three games. Team Spirit took home a lion’s share of $35,000 in that tourney that allowed them to finish at the top of the CIS region.

The top-spot finish earned them an invite to both the IEM Katowice 2021 and today’s CIS. They had a poor finish in the IEM tourney, but they are looking to get a win on CIS this time. The team hopes to secure a title to close out the tourney.

Team Spirit recently took down K23 in the first round of the Upper Bracket. They secured a ticket to face Gambit Esports in the semis, and whoever wins will go straight ahead to the Upper Bracket final - a win away from the Grand Final.

Gambit Esports

Gambit Esports is one of the rising teams in 2021. They are waving the banner of the CIS region along with Team Spirit as they have recently won the IEM Katowice 2021. Formerly known as Gambit Gaming, the Russian group is owned by Russian telecom Mobile TeleSystems. Prior to their win in the latest Majors, they were known for winning the PGL Major Kraków 2017.

The team has proven to be a juggernaut in CSGO. Their win at the IEM Katowice 2021 is a huge wonder for many fans all over the world. The team proved that they can rise up to the challenge and beat the odds.

No one expected a team from the CIS region to win the latest Major. Most Majors are won by teams hailing from either Europe or North America, and no one expected Gambit to pull off a stunning push all the way to the top of CSGO.

The likes of Vladislav ‘nafany’ Gorshkov, Dmitry ‘sh1ro’ Sokolov, Timofey ‘interz’ Yakushin, Sergey ‘Ax1Le’ Rykhtorov and Abay ‘Hobbit’ Khassenov lead the way for Gambit’s success so far. Coach Konstantin ‘groove’ Pikiner has done a great job of leading them to a winning run for his players so far, and they have done a great job of putting up big numbers for the team in terms of winning games.

They are the heavy favourites to win this tourney. Just like how free CSGO skins are popular among many players, Gambit is really a hit among many players, and this is why it is going to be a better run for them to continue with. It is going to be a huge challenge for the team as they aim to secure a chance to keep the pace going for the rest of 2021.

With a lot of teams in play, it is hard to root for all teams at once, but there are some high profile squads in the tourney that could be well best to support in the tourney. This is going to be a great contest for many teams, and after the first Major in February, fans are really eager to see more action from them.
