Working the Game: CSGO Terminology

CSGO is clearly a growing game since being launched back in 2012, and it has gamers going excited in every step of the way.

Working the Game: CSGO Terminology

CSGO is proven to be one of the biggest games in the Esports industry. Since being launched back in 2012, the game has grown in popularity and has bore a large community of gamers who are looking to see the greatness of the sport.

The game’s early versions have hit our screens since 1999, and it has attracted a lot of players in the computer shops. Connecting through LAN cables and making use of the internet and other gaming connectors, it has eventually grown into a huge community all over the world.

That use of free CSGO skins have shown us that the game can step up in many ways. The big tournaments have been very successful in making the game even better. The competitive scene of the game has shown us that even the best franchises such as Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, Battlefield and many more cannot put up the same level that CSGO did.

The free CSGO skins and stickers have proven to be one of the biggest factors in the game. It has shaped the way it is played through customisation. It just meant that the game clearly attracted more players in the online community, and the build up of more skins and stickers along with the unique designs has been effective as well.

Considering the huge number of players and the big teams starting to invest in the game, one can say that the growth of CSGO cannot be really denied at all. To begin with, players have always started with the base skins of their weapons, and they worked hard to get what they have now.

Even so, the sheer number of accounts created in the game has been a stunning thing as well. That just proved that even by the eight years of gaming, CSGO has stayed up top in the shooter industry and that says a lot about the game’s overall experience and consistency to bring the best competitions out of its best players.

It has stood against the test of time, challenging the popularity of other Esports games such as Dota 2, League of Legends, Hearthstone and even StarCraft 2. CSGO has shown everyone that it can adapt and even change some features to suit the likes of its players.

CSGO Players

CSGO Players have proven to be very fun to watch. They have established themselves to be fine gamers who have dreamed of playing in the biggest leagues and show their talents in the game.

If you ever played a shooter game, then CSGO should be no different to you. Adaptive games such as Valorant and Fortnite have added some features to their gameplay, and yet they have failed to take over CSGO as the leading shooter game in the Esports industry.

However, this is not like the easy gaming that the popular shooter games offer. It is not easy to just run and gun all your way into winning the game. You are going to strafe, stop and shoot and repeat to get the job done. If a player is going to win a round, one must meet certain objectives in the game.

There are a lot of things to consider when it comes to choosing the right weapon for each player. These come with roles, such as rifler, AWPer, close quarters, and so on. Each player can carry a different weapon in the game as well.

CSGO also features an economy setting, which features some of the best things in the game. Maintaining a winning round for each team rewards them with more money in-game, which can be used to purchase better weapons and equipment in the later rounds.

That proved to be one of the biggest challenges in the game that was carried over from the original game back in 1999. It was considered to be a signature maintenance and so it proved not just to be a regular shooter game, but rather a much more complex nature compared to the likes of Call of Duty, Medal of Honor and other popular games.

There are a lot of great players in the world right now, and that means that CSGO has grown a lot in the past few years. Considering the fact that gaming itself has always been a consistent thing in their lives, experience and success has brought them a lot of different lessons in the game.

Mathieu ‘ZywOo’ Herbaut is arguably one of the best players in the game right now, considering that he has been playing the game for four years. His big break in 2018 with Team Vitality saw him emerge as one of the biggest names in the game.

He was ranked as the top player by HLTV in 2019 thanks to his great game in using the AWP. ZywOo has led his team to multiple wins and has shined bright in some of the biggest stages of the game.

In his last 10 major tournaments, he has finished at the top spot six times and only four times as the second. That just shows his incredible ability to lead his team to success and eventually earn his rightful spot in the game.

Oleksandr ‘s1mple’ Kostyliev has proven to be a critical player in the game as well. Playing for Natus Vincere as the lead AWPer and entry fragger, he has clearly emerged as one of the best players in the game as well.

He finished second to ZywOo last year and proved to be a contender in the top spot for many years in his career. That just says a lot about the multiple years that he finished inside the top 20 of the best players per year.

He only finished second twice in his last 10 tournaments and has bagged the first prize in the rest of them. He also finished with MVP honours 10 times in other tournaments as well.

Astralis still leads the top rankings this year thanks to their big wins in the recent tournaments. The lineup of dupreeh, gla1ve, device, es3tag and Magisk proved to be a big hit this season. They have 969 points coming from other tournaments, and that proved to be a factor in their unblemished place at the standings.

Team Heroic stands at the second spot with 939 points, while Natus Vincere sits at the third spot with 827 points, which is somehow far from Heroic. It seems that the team will need to work something out if they are going to get a chance at earning the top spot once more.

Vitality is at the fourth spot with 822 points, and they are looking to boost their roster this year as they added a sixth man to get their chances better and join more tournaments. The Evil Geniuses are on the next spot with 758 points and have eased up on their training as they went up ahead to get their pace going for the closing tournaments of the year.

Getting a team together in the game means that five or more players are playing in it with different roles. As mentioned earlier, these roles play a big role depending on the type of game played.

For example, players may encounter bomb holders when they play the terrorist group in the game. Meanwhile, counter-terrorist players can all defuse bombs and those are just a few of the added roles.

However, general roles come up such as shotgun users, shielders, and even a SMGer can come into play for teams with complex roles. It all depends on how teams will actually play and work with it when it comes to the type of game played.

CSGO Tournament

CSGO hosts a lot of tournaments every year, and that comes from those Majors which are held in different countries all over the world. These big tournaments give teams a chance to earn points in the season and tally them to rank up and reach the top of HLTV rankings.

Out of 15 tournaments since 2013, Astralis has notched the most number of wins since then. The team has held four title wins in all of those Majors, with the most recent one coming from the Berlin Major back in 2019, where they defeated AVANGAR in a very close battle back then.

On the other hand, Fnatic has won the first Major back in 2013. They defeated the Ninjas in Pyjamas in a great series, clinching the title in front of their home crowd in Sweden. Since then, the number of Majors per year has increased, leading to the bigger growth of the CSGO community as well.
