Who are the top national cricket teams in the world?
To uninformed people, cricket is one of the most popular sports around the world. There are so many teams that can be considered top cricket squads. Let’s dive into what teams are the best and what makes them elite-level squads.
Contrary to popular belief, cricket is one of the best sports in the world. Football is known as the most popular but stats have proven that cricket draws people. There are numerous nations that have made cricket one of their landmark sports but it’s mostly centred around Asia, Europe and the Oceanic region.
North and South American nations have their own cricket teams but they are not as strong and popular as the teams from the other regions. Just like people’s interest in free CSGO skins, the love for cricket is widespread. Even if the USA is not a big fan of the sport due to their love for baseball, cricket has remained a powerful sport around the world and it has produced elite athletes too.
Here are the teams that can be considered the best in the world.
India
India is the nation where you can see cricket at its peak. The sport is so popular to the point that it has become one of the iconic activities in the country. Cricket stars are regarded as heroes in India which means that the sport means so much to the people at home.
If you get the chance to speak to Indians about cricket, you will hear in-depth stories about the sport and how it has affected their daily lives. That shows the big impact that sports can bring to the table and why it matters to so many people around the world.
India has also produced so many star players in its history headlined by the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Kapil Dev, Virat Kohli and many more. That is just scratching the surface because India produces world-class players at an alarming rate to the point that they have to leave star players out of their lineups because the team is too loaded with talent.
Cricket is not a sport that is expensive to play like golf or car racing. All you need to have is a bat paired with a ball on a wide area. Indians know the struggle of playing cricket in their yards but that captures India’s love for cricket since they make the sport easier for the country’s youth.
Their usual high-level runs in tournaments are effective in convincing young people to play cricket. This further develops great players because these young players will develop into stars as time goes on.
South Africa
While cricket is not as popular as football in South Africa, they are one of the best-performing teams over the past few years. They have a history of performing at the highest level but they always seem to flame out on the biggest stages.
Interest has kept growing over the years which has also led to players joining the system. There is a solid influx of young talent in the system and it will only continue to grow in the future. Hopefully, people can realize that SA has the potential to grow into a power in cricket like India.
SA is known for its legendary players too with the likes of Graeme Smith, Gary Kirsten, AB De Villiers and many more. They have created household names for themselves through cricket and it has helped ignite the youth’s love for cricket which breeds more players to play the sport.
Look forward to SA becoming a superpower in cricket as they continue to develop and grow as a program.
Australia
Australia is one of the most iconic nations in cricket. They are one of the best countries when it comes to supporting their team. It also helps that they’re always in the top tier of cricket. This is one of the most passionate crowds in the world because they show their support in troves with chants and you can expect them to heckle their opponents as well to show loyalty to AUS.
They have a plethora of venues around the country and it’s always filled to the brim with fans. That is special since AUS doesn’t have many sports but with cricket, they are truly one of the best in the sport.
They’ve produced so much great talent over the years and they continue to do so. If you meet an Australian, you will have access to so much passion because they’ve stuck with their team through thick and thin.
Aussies are familiar with legendary stars with the likes of Glenn McGrath, Keith Miller, Steve Smith and many more. There are more stars on the way for AUS since they have a system that revolves around having young talented youngsters who come in the local competitions. This country should be on the shortlist for passionate fans because if you see an Aussie stadium, you will experience something special.
England
With only football as the only sport more popular, cricket is also big in England. They are the reigning World Cup champs as well which means that their love for the sport is warranted by success over the other top teams. Most people said that cricket was declining before 2019 until the Three Lions secured the trophy.
Yes, football is still the country’s landmark sport but you can expect that cricket will remain ingrained in the culture because they’re world-class which is backed up by the success that they’ve achieved.
England has a great history of star players from the likes of Sir Ian Botham to Kevin Pietersen and Joe Root today. There are so many players who have graced English cricket and they will only improve.
Cricket is global
Don’t believe the people who are saying that cricket is not a big sport. Just take a look at the countries that were mentioned here and look for some more. Pakistan, New Zealand and many more come to mind.
Of course, it is not as prominent as other sports or esports in free CSGO skins betting, but you can rely on it to be a fun sport with so many passionate fans.
