The top teams to bet on at the LCK Spring 2024

Ten teams are participating in the League of Legends Championship Korea (LCK) Spring Split in a double round-robin format. Two emerged as this split’s favourites namely T1 and Gen.G as the most likely winner. However, underdogs like Hanwha Life Esports, Dplus KIA, and KT Roster also have a shot at the title.

LCK Spring betting is so exciting for this reason. All five teams named above have the best players in the league and each one has proven their mettle in the history of esports. Should you place your bet on the two favourites or take the chance with any of the three underdogs? Consider your options thoroughly with this Gamdom overview of each team:

Favourites of LCK Spring 2024

Players and coaches are interviewed on 10th January and it’s unanimously agreed that T1 and Gen.G are primed to perform the best this season. They have garnered the highest odds in LCK betting, making bets against them become exciting opportunities for the rest of the tournament.

The most fun part is that there is no clear winner between the two favourites. It is within everyone’s expectations that the winner will come from either T1 or Gen.G especially given the current roster for both sides.

T1 - The undisputed favourite

Head coachKim ‘KkOma’ Jeong-gyun
Top lanerChoi ‘Zeus’ Woo-je
JunglerMun ‘Oner’ Hyeon-jun
Mid lanerLee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok
Bot lanerLee ‘Gumayusi’ Min-Hyeong
SupportRyu ‘Keria’ Min-seok

T1 is frequently the top favourite in almost every major esport events in the League of Legends competitive season. It’s even harder to convince that any other team is better considering that they are the Worlds 2023 champions. There are no changes made to the winning roster from staff to active players, ensuring that they’re bringing their best to the LCK Spring 2024 as well.

Gen.G - Prime contender for the throne

Head coachKim ‘KIM’ Jeong-soo
Top lanerKim ‘Kiin’ Gi-in
JunglerKim ‘Canyon’ Geon-bu
Mid lanerJeong ‘Chovy’  Ji-hoon
Bot lanerKim ‘Peyz’ Su-hwan
SupportSon ‘Lehends’ Si-woo

In contrast with T1, Gen.G is starting the new LCK season with a fresh roster. Everyone on the team joined in November 2023, after Worlds 2023, and the head coach stepped up on 30th January 2024. Everyone on the team has a strong performance record in League of Legends esports which is why many fans are confident that they will be the best contender vs T1.

Underdogs of LCK Spring 2024

The teams listed below are not underdogs of the whole tournament. They stand proud in the top five of the LCK Spring 2024 roster. However, they are underdogs compared to T1 and Gen.G both in the tournament proper as well as in head-to-head matchups.

Their LCK odds are not to be underestimated. They each stand a strong fighting chance even against the defending champion. Look forward to their valiant efforts against the LCK Spring favourites because they are the safest underdog bets you can find.

Hanwha Life Esports

Head coachChoi ‘DanDy’ In-kyu
Top lanerChoi ‘Doran’ Hyeon-joon
JunglerHan ‘Peanut’ Wang-ho
Mid lanerKim ‘Zeka’ Geon-woo
Bot lanerPark ‘Viper’ Do-hyeon
SupportYoo ‘Delight’ Hwan-joong

Zeka and Viper are the only ones who extended their contracts after 2023 while the rest of the team are replaced. Joining them this LCK season is Doran, Viper’s former teammate in Griffin. Hanwha Life Esports also brought in Delight as Viper’s support and former Gen.G bot laner, Peanut, now playing as the team’s jungler.

The team is patched together as some of the best that the organisation can hire but a chemistry between them has a strong potential. Fans are confident that DanDy can guide them into a cohesive unit.

Dplus KIA

Head coachLee ’Zefa’ Jae-min
Top lanerHwang ‘Kingen’ Seong-hoon
JunglerChoi ‘Lucid’ Yong-hyeok
Mid lanerHeo ‘ShowMaker’ Su
Bot lanerKim ‘Aiming’ Ha-ram
SupportKim ‘Kellin’ Hyeong-gyu

There was a time when Dplus KIA was among the LCK Spring favourites, especially after winning against T1 multiple times in history. However, their performances last year were inconsistent. The team changed the roster, leaving only ShowMaker, Kellin, and head coach Zefa as members from the 2021 batch while the rest were replaced in 2023.

ShowMaker is still a beast in the mid-lane with enough prowess to rival Faker in a head-to-head. Any match with them and T1 is an exciting matchup so if you’re looking to bet on the underdog this season, Dplus KIA is a compelling option.

KT Rolster

Head coachKang ‘Hirai’ Dong-hoon
Top lanerLee ‘PerfecT’ Seung-min
JunglerHong ‘Pyosik’ Chang-hyeon
Mid lanerGwak ‘Bdd’ Bo-seong
Bot lanerKim ‘Deft’ Hyuk-kyu
SupportCho ‘BeryL’ Geon-hee

Head coach Hirai is all that remains from the 2023 season team because the whole roster was replaced that November. Unfortunately for him, the new members have a surprisingly rigid game plan given their uncreative composition. Every new member is individually talented in their positions but their performance in the preseason has been hit or miss at best.

This is why KT Rolster has the lowest chance of performing well even amongst LCK Spring underdogs. However, they can also shine under the right circumstances, showing Hirai’s ability to instruct his team. They can perform consistently well against other teams like Dplus KIA and Hanwha Life but they are not safe bets against T1 or Gen.G according to most LCK betting tips.
