Ninjas in Pyjamas claimed an impressive 2-0 win over Astralis to shock the entire CSGO community in the BLAST Premier Spring series.
NiP Scores Opening Win Over Astralis
While Astralis proved to be the favourites in the BLAST Premier Spring series, it seems that the Ninjas in Pyjamas have stunned the CSGO community with a 2-0 win over the league leaders. The defining win puts NiP in a perfect position to take over the rest of the tournament.
Astralis was a leader heading into 2021 when they finished the previous year on the top of the HLTV rankings. It was one of the best wins for NiP in what was an intense showdown to tip off the BLAST Premier Spring series.
NiP defied the odds and stole away a 2-0 win when it mattered the most. The squad fended off some big stretches from Peter ‘dupreeh’ Rasmussen, who poked his way through the NiP lineup to tally a total of 48 kills in the match.
Dupreeh also posted the highest average for damage per round in the server. His tally is also the most opening kills and the highest rating as well, and he made use of the best free CSGO skins on his weapons.
However, Astralis lacked much team effort to battle NiP’s rifler Tim ‘nawwk’ Jonasson. The team secured a 16-13 win on Overpass and another 16-13 on Inferno. There was no stopping NiP’s onslaught as they kept on pulling wins against Astralis.
Nawwk also secured the most kills for NiP. He made 82.9% of the team’s tally, but it was their rookie Erik ‘ztr’ Gustafsson who delivered the win for the squad by stealing the show during the opening matches.
Ztr showed his talent from the academy team as a substitute for Simon ‘twist’ Eliasson after being benched in February. NiP was looking for the big energy and massive potential in their squad, and they found it in ztr’s game.
It looks like betting on NiP could prove to be the best way to win handsome prizes including some free CSGO skins.
The 17-year-old sparked NiP’s hype in the game as he led the team in one of their most solid wins of the year. Ztr finished with a +6 kill to death differential and a 1.02 rating.
NiP can seal the series with a major contender out of the play. It looks like the team can conjure a successful run early in 2021.
