The next episode BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is set to go for bigger heights in 2023 with the BLAST.tv Paris Major coming up to rock the big stage. With Valve now set to make some big changes in the qualifier system, fans can’t wait to see more intense shooter action in the coming year.

Valve decided to come up with a huge change in the Regional Major Rankings (RMRs) by making a shift in the direct invite portion. From now on, teams that don’t get invited right into the Majors will skip the open qualifiers and compete against other teams for the chance to earn a slot in any CSGO Major 2022 coming right up.

The BLAST.tv major will be the first to come up with this format. It will see some of the better CS:GO teams rewarded for their consistency in the game, which means more appearances in the long run. That is what makes it even more exciting with the tournament coming right up. Here’s what you need to know about the upcoming BLAST.tv Major in 2023.

Tournament format

The BLAST.tv Major will be held in three stages with 24 teams playing in the first two. All of these will be held in the Swiss system format where half of the competing teams are eliminated every round. There is a set CSGO Major schedule for the coming tournament, which makes it easy for punters to get ready for their wagers.

There is a lot of hype with the new format for the RMRs, and the BLAST.tv Major should be the biggest difference that will bring more excitement to the upcoming CS:GO action. Here’s what you should know about the upcoming tournament:

Challengers Stage

The Challengers stage is the first phase of the competition. A total of 16 teams get the chance to play in this part with each series played in a best of three when it comes to elimination and advancement games. All other matches are set for a best of one assuming that the top teams are already ahead in points.

The top eight teams in the standings for the Challengers Stage will advance to the Legends Stage, while the bottom eight squads are eliminated from play. This works like the lower bracket in most tournaments combined with the new format.

Legends Stage

The Legends Stage will have the same format as the Challengers Stage. The eight winning teams from the Challengers will play as the underdogs in this stage as the top teams from the RMRs will have the advantage of picking the maps. The other eight waiting teams are the best teams based on their ranking and performance in the season along with Majors results.

All elimination and advancement matches are set in a best of three while the rest of the games are a best of one. The top eight teams will proceed to the Champions Stage while the bottom eight squads are eliminated from contention.

Champions Stage

The BLAST.tv CS GO Major 2023 wraps up with the Champion Stage held for three days. The final eight teams of the competition are set in a bracket with a semi-final and final. The stage is set in a single-elimination bracket with all matches set in a best of three. The winner of the final will get the lion’s share of the prize pool for the tournament.

Prize Pool

The prize pool for the tournament is set at $1,250,000 and will be spread to a total of 24 teams. The champion will receive $500,000 along with a qualifying ticket to the IEM Cologne 2023. The second placer will get $170,000 while the third and fourth-placed teams will take home $80,000 each. The fifth to eighth places will get $45,000 as well. In addition, the ninth to 16th places will receive $20,000 each while the 17th to 24th places will take home $10,000 as consolation prizes.
