Skins Galore: How Do CSGO Skins Work?

Skins do have a fine impact on a player’s gaming experience in CSGO as it adds the human element of a personal touch in equipment.

Skins Galore: How Do CSGO Skins Work?

Skins have been a prominent thing in CSGO since being added in a major update not so long ago. It has proven the Esports industry that even one of the oldest games can still grow and create more changes to improve their gaming experience, and they are not wrong about that.

CSGO has seen a lot of changes over the years, and players have been there through every up and down of the game. CSGO endured eight years of non-stop gaming and took in more intense matches and exciting tournaments every year. The game has evolved well and brought more players and fans into the fold.

The CSGO community continues to grow bigger and stronger. That means more players are really getting immersed in the game and the developers continue to meet their demands. The addition of skins and stickers in the game was a big win considering the fact that some of the lowly multiplayer shooters have done it in the past.

CSGO’s adoption of the skins have proven to be rewarding. It garnered more fans than ever, and the game has been much more popular as well. Players have invested in bringing in more skins for their weapons, knives and gloves. This has made a lasting impact on the CSGO community, and you can see how it has grown better in the past few years.

What are CSGO skins?

One thing about the skins is that they don’t really make a big difference in your gaming experience when it comes to damage, health, economy and even in-game money. You won’t get additional health and damage, but it does make you want to try it out simply because it is very stylish.

Given the fact that it does not have any in-game effects, players have tried to get creative with those skins. Of course, who would not want to go in there and take out their enemies in style?

Gunning down an opponent with a silenced M4A1 that has a Golden Coil skin would really look like a pro move. You would look like a fine elite hunter in the game, creeping like how a snake takes down its prey. It would make you look good on the killcam especially if it was a creative kill or even a strafe move and a quickscope move.

Now, the big thing about CSGO is that you need to get a prior knowledge about those skins before actually planning to get one. There are a lot of skins that vary from each weapon up to each type of gun. Even knives get coloured edges and handles with those new skins, and they make up for a human element in the game that makes it much more immersive.

The fact that many players are already making an effort to get those skins is a big win for the developers, and that just means that they have to keep on going and make more innovations for the game yearly.

CSGO Skins Rarity

Knowing the quality of the skins that you will use in the game is one thing, and that says a lot about the overall feel and a little bit of respect that you are going to get from other players in the game. Pro players are known to be experts on skins, and they can tell what skin you have on your gun, knife or glove once they take you out and get a glimpse of your corpse in the game.

The rarity of the skin is an important factor that can tell the quality and features it has. These skins have grades, and they play a big role in the statistical chances of dropping or uncasing a skin. That means that rarer skins with high grades are less likely to be uncased or looted.

Consumer grade skins are coloured white, and they are the most common of all those skins. They usually cost just a few cents compared to other pricey skins. Industrial grade skins are labelled as light blue, and they are still quite common and are dropped weekly after random matches.

Mil-Spec skins are commonly seen as the base blue, and they are the first grade that drops from any weapon case. A lot of these can be found on the market through trade up contracts, but a purple skin - a Restricted grade is much harder to get. Usually a fruit of a weapon case opening or a trade contract as well.

Classified skins are very rare and expensive on the market. Many of the skins with a creative design are put on this grade, and players may have a tough time getting their hands on these. However, big skins such as the Aquamarine Revenge, Golden Coil and the Hyper Beast for the AWP are the rarest of all skins.

Most of those are for the assault rifles, some AWPs and pistols, and they are known as the Covert grade. They can get expensive depending on the quality and exterior design to blend with stickers.

Legendary and Contraband grades are very rare, and they can cost a lot of money as it includes most of the skins and gloves. Also, some other skins are removed from the roster, such as the Howl skin for the M4A4, and yet it remains as the only Contraband grade skin in the game.

How to Obtain Skins

Skins are not that hard to get. Almost all skins of every grade can be found in the game one way or another. However, it is the rarity of the skin that makes it very hard to get at some point. You have to take note that there are more skins coming out soon, and while some of the older and popular ones have already been removed from the game.

White and blue items are the most easy to get as they are the most common grades of skin that have a higher chance of looting them on random drops. All other grades than these two are usually available via case opening, and that means you need keys that cost around a couple of dollars.

Using keys is a little bit tricky though. They are all scattered and distributed by Valve, and each key opens a specific case that can contain a variety of skins. Key trading has been disabled since the last update, so that means that getting those keys might be a little bit hard for now.

Trade up contracts are also there if you can’t go and use keys. It only needs you to use 12 skins of the same rare grade and upgrade it into one skin of a higher tier. Some of these are just actual luck, and some players take the risk of losing a number of skins for a much higher grade.

Also, betting sites make the use of many free CSGO skins guides. That means that some CSGO players can opt and try to get some of those skins by playing in some betting sites. That gives them a fair chance of winning a skin while earning a little bit of money when it comes to placing their wagers.

Popular Skins in CSGO

As said before, CSGO has already created a wide variety of skins in the game since it was introduced years ago. It has made the game much more popular than ever, and yet players have enjoyed collecting skins as a form of a hobby and that has driven the skin trade ever since.

Skins on sniper rifles, assault rifles, pistols and knives are the most prominent designs in the game, and they make it up for the vast choices that players can select from and personalise their game.

Popular skins hail from the AK-47, M4A4, M4A1-S, and even the P90. Some pistols such as the Desert Eagle offer premium choices as well, making it look like a gold-plated one or even a much lovable digital camo design.

Also, knives have their designs as well. Even the classic knife can get the Slaughter skin for a deadly look or even a Forest DDPAT design to suit the needs of a pro player that can blend in well in forest maps or even in wide open ones such as Dust2 or Mirage.

If you are a fan of the Karambit, then you would surely love the Fade and Lore skins as well. They prove to be a suitable combination for those players who love to hack and slash their way when they run out of bullets.

Skins make up for a much more complex and immersive gameplay experience. These are just cosmetics that have no actual effect on the game’s system and yet provide a fine design for all players who want it.
