BLAST comes up with big changes for 2021
With the big CSGO season finally set to unfold, that only means that teams and players are getting ready for a bigger action in the game. After all, CSGO has been missed by a lot of fans all over the world, and seeing the big tournaments come back is a fine relief to all.
On top of that, BLAST has opted to come up with a lot of fixes for the 2021 Premier Championship. The event is set to see a big qualifying event that is going to be overhauled for the showdown events with Asia and Oceania joining in the regions for the said tournament.
Like in 2020, the 2021 edition will be split into Spring and Fall seasons. Each season will get three parts of competitive play, which includes the Groups, Showdown, and then the Finals. For those who are new to the CSGO community, the Group stage was previously known as the Series.
Get a chance to win big on Crash
In terms of reaching the World Final with a chance to make history, only the Fall and Spring champions will get a spot that would take them straight to the event. The other six teams will have to battle it out with a leaderboard. That includes results from ESL Pro League seasons 13 and 14, Flashpoint 3 and 4, the Fall Major and the Race to the World Final leaderboard.
CSGO will surely be a big hit once more, and that could prove to be the goal that BLAST CEO Robbie Douek is aiming for in 2021. The eSports community will see a big rise both in fanbase and players.
‘Next year’s format will be the most inclusive in the Counter-Strike scene and offer teams from regions all over the world an opportunity to compete in our highly-anticipated events, thanks to our new qualifying series’, Douek said.
The World Final is set with the biggest prize of $1,000,000 and will take place this December 14 to 19. That means that the best CSGO team will have to play well if they hope to get a chance of winning these big prizes. After all, there are a lot of games ahead with the season going into full swing.
