Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is a fantastic first-person shooter but it has also attracted a lot of people due to the cosmetics with every weapon available. There are different kinds of skins but they also possess some unique patterns.
When people talk about skins in CSGO, most people think about the rarest of skins. The AWP Dragon Lore and the M4A4 Howl have always been on the minds of people but there are other rare skins out there that actually have some unique characteristics that set them apart from the free CSGO skins.
Let us talk about these patterns that have taken the CSGO world by storm starting with the Case Hardened Patterns.
Case Hardened Patterns
Blue
This is the most in-demand and rarest pattern that you would want on your AK-47 or FiveSeven. There are also some instances where you can see this pattern on some knives. This usually involves weapons with a bright blue shine on them.
They have been dubbed Blue Gems because of how the colour just pops because the blue takes over the majority of the weapon. The AK-47 is typically seen as a dull design because of the colours but with the blue on the Case Hardened pattern, it looks really good.
Gold
The second-rarest pattern is the gold iteration of the Case Hardened skin. Again, the AK-47 is the most prominent weapon that has this iteration. This is the only fully gold skin for the gun which makes it a hot commodity for the CSGO community. Having that kind of design on the most widely-used gun is definitely a plus because it looks good.
Galaxy
This is also called the rainbow pattern as there are a lot of colours here. This is not as rare as the other two. The dominant colour in this pattern is purple but you can also see splashes of gold and blue across the weapon,
As always, the Five-SeveN and the AK-47 are the weapons that headline this. Knives are again included but those are not popular with players as a lot see that it does not suit the knife aesthetic.
Silver
Lastly, silver is the last case hardened pattern and it is the least popular. This is the most common pattern which has left a sour taste in people’s mouths. However, this silver is not really a dull pattern because there is a slight gold tint here. The two guns look good but the knives have a darker colour which some people see as dull.
Fade Patterns
When it comes to the fade pattern, you will have a weapon that will have a gradient pattern. You can see how more colours there are with the fade, the more valuable the skin is. Some lesser value fade skins just have about two colours on it and the high-value fades have three or more colours on it.
Fade
This is the classic fade skin that consists of a combination of orange and purple. The lesser-value edition of the Fade skin only has the orange and then with the higher-value iteration, you can see orange, purple and even some pink and blue. The Huntsman Knife is one of the best examples of this.
The Karambit knife’s Fade is a special edition of this because their colour there is flipped. Even the lesser-value edition looks very good because the purple and the pink just pop. The orange on the higher-value pattern looks even better.
Amber Fade
The Amber Fade is probably the most lowkey skin because it is a slightly brown and bronze tint. A prominent example of this is the Sawed-Off shotgun where you easily see the fade on the main base of the gun.
Acid Fade
As the name suggests, green is the primary colour with this pattern. In the lesser pattern, you will see a dark and light green gradient. On the other hand, it has a yellowish hue added to the gradient. This is not a popular pattern because people do not like the overall aesthetic.
Marble Fade
This is quite possibly the most popular pattern because it is truly eye-catching. You have a combination of blue, gold and red. It is one of the prettiest patterns in the game which is especially good-looking on the Flip Knife’s Marble Fade.
Lesser-known patterns
Since the previous two patterns are what people usually see, there are actually other patterns present in the game. You have the Kami pattern which is actually pretty unique.
Kami
If you search the Five-SeveN Kami, you will see a lot of unique patterns there which actually has eight editions. Those have some references to pop culture which makes it a great pattern to have.
Torm/Sandstorm
This is also known as the Sandstorm pattern. This is actually one of the most diverse patterns in the game as it has three different types. You have the gold edition which is usually called the sand skin because of how it resembles sand. There is the purple edition of the skin which is completely purple.
On the other hand, there is the purple-gold which is a combination of the two. The primary colour is purple but it has some accents of the gold scattered all around.
Unique Knife Patterns
There are actually some patterns that have different patterns. You might have seen Slaughter knives in your time playing CSGO but they are knives that are primarily red but it has unique patterns. In total, there are 12 patterns which stretch to almost all kinds of knives.
This is similar to the situation with Crimson Web knives as they also have different editions. These vary with the number of webs etched onto the knife.
Lastly, the Doppler knives are one of the most unique because it will surely catch the eyes of the players. It should not be confused with the Fade because it usually has a set colour that it does not stray from.
These are the patterns that CSGO skins have which just adds depth to the cosmetics that have garnered so much attention over the years.
