CoD League: A battleground of esports legends

Call of Duty is one of the most wagered esport titles in the world. While it started out as a regular shooter game that has varying concepts, the Activision Blizzard title has evolved into an esport where many teams and players are keen to play their best and deliver success for their countries and squads.

Call of Duty betting is everywhere, and the prominence of the game is simply undeniable thanks to its huge reach among many players and fans out there. The launch of various games such as Modern Warfare (2019), Vanguard and Black Ops: Cold War has led to a successful esports brand for Call of Duty over the years.

Since then, Call of Duty has evolved into a much bigger title thanks to its very own league that is always anticipated by the game’s fans. Learn how this competition works before you start betting.

How does Call of Duty League work

The Call of Duty League made the game an influential title in esports. The tournament structure has changed over the years but it still brings the same excitement to fans who watch out for the big games.

The 2022 edition of the Call of Duty esports League has used Vanguard as the game to play. Vanguard is set in the Second World War, which means the weapons that players will use are based on that timeline as opposed to the previous season’s Black Ops: Cold War which is set in the late ‘60s. A total of 12 teams are set to compete for the big stage in the Call of Duty League.

Here is the format for the 2022 Call of Duty League:

First two majors

After the Kickoff Classic, the CoD League played the Stage 1 games to rank the teams before coming up with a Major that took place from March 3 through March 6, 2022. There are a lot of Call of Duty tournaments to win, but the first one belonged to OpTic Texas after beating Atlanta FaZe in the finals with a 4-1 score.

The second Major took place from March 31 to April 3, 2022. The Atlanta FaZe came back in the final once more, while defending champions OpTic Texas were swept in the first round. However, it is the Los Angeles Guerrillas who took the big win by beating FaZe 5-2 in the final round despite being the sixth seed in the tournament.

All-Star Weekend

Just like popular leagues, the Call of Duty League hosts an All-Star Weekend to celebrate the greatness of different players in the esports community. There are various matches along with a roster composed of the voted all-stars for the said event, which brings a delightful experience for a lot of players and teams who are grinding for wins.

Those who know how to bet on Call of Duty leagues can enjoy a fun experience in the All-Star Weekend since the stakes are higher than the previous events thanks to the presence of various star players from different esports teams.

Post-All-Star tournaments

After the prestigious All-Star Weekend, all teams along with four Challengers teams from the second division will play against each other, with the latter playing as underdogs to start off the second half of the Call of Duty season. The previous season saw two tournaments, but the 2022 edition only saw one tournament, which was the Pro-Am Classic.

The Pro-Am Classic saw teams divided into four groups with four squads in each. Neither of the contenders in the last two tourneys reached the final, with the New York Subliners coming up big with a 3-1 win against the Los Angeles Thieves.

Final two Majors

The last two Majors resumed quickly from May 13 to 29, 2022 after the Pro-Am Classic, with the Seattle Surge claiming the big win in the Stage 3 Major after defeating the Atlanta FaZe in a 5-3 score in the final. The fourth and final Major began on June 24th and wrapped up on July 10th with the Los Angeles Thieves shocking veteran punters in Call of Duty League betting with a stunning win against the New York Subliners.

Teams are then ranked based on their overall performance in the four tourney stages and the Pro-Am Classic. The top eight teams are all set to play in the Call of Duty League Championship, which will be set in a Double Elimination bracket.

Championships

The Call of Duty League Championship 2022 is set to take place from August 4 to 7, 2022. Just like the previous editions, there will be a Winners’ round and an elimination round for the losing teams in the early parts of the tournament. This will then determine the final four teams before moving on to the championship round of the season.

The Atlanta FaZe are the defending champions after their huge triumph in the 2021 season against the Toronto Ultra with a 5-3 score. A lot of fans are now keen to see the big stage and bet on Call of Duty League finals especially with bigger stakes at the ready.

Top Call of Duty teams to bet on

The final eight are set on the big stage and fans of the game will witness a battle for greatness. There are top three teams of the competition that are looking to crush their opponents with everything they can and win the Championship.

Atlanta FaZe

The Atlanta FaZe are the top pick for the 2022 Call of Duty Championship. They are one of the most formidable teams in the league, and they are still the reigning leaders as well. This is why the Call of Duty League odds favour them so far, which means their chances of winning are looking good. The team ended the season with a 28-13 record for 330 points.

OpTic Texas

OpTic Texas did a great job to challenge FaZe for most of the season. While they did enjoy their own success, beating FaZe for the Championships is going to be the biggest win they can possibly achieve this season as it means dethroning the league champions. Texas closed out the season with 265 points coming from a 24-12 record in the Majors and Stages.

Los Angeles Thieves

The Los Angeles Thieves is one of the best teams to consider in Call of Duty league betting as they are stunning underdogs in the competition. The squad came up with a 17-17 record with 200 points, and perhaps their late comebacks in the final Major propelled them to a much bigger place in the league table.
