Just like before, teams will gain CDL points for each win they get through the whole season with additional points distributed depending on each team's performance at the Majors. The CDL points total will be crucial in matching up with the right teams and advancing to the later stages of the competition. 

Teams will be fighting for the spot in the 2023 season and it’s going to be a bloodbath in the seedings for these integral points. The goal is to qualify for the top eight teams and eventually make it to the 2023 Call of Duty League playoffs. 

Different game modes 

There are specific and unique game modes that each team can participate in. These are staples in the CDL and the league pits two teams of five against each of the competitors in a variety of modes, and they are: 

• Hardpoint - The hardpoint is an area of the map that each team must gain control over. Every time a team takes control of the hardpoint, they will be rewarded with points.
• Search and Destroy - In this mode, players will only get one life per round where each round the offensive team’s goal is to detonate a bomb. The defensive team’s objective is to detonate or prevent this from happening. 
  Whoever succeeds in achieving these objectives the most will win the game. An alternative goal is to simply kill all members of the opposing team to secure a win.
• Domination - In this game mode, a team is given the task to control three objectives marked by flags. Points will be earned every five seconds depending on how many flags are under a team’s control.
