How the New King of the Hill Points System Works

King of the Hill is evolving. Starting April 15th, 2026, we're replacing the Monthly KOTH with a new Bi-Weekly format — two separate tournaments every month, each with a $500,000 prize pool. 

That's $1,000,000 in prizes every month, with twice the chances to climb the leaderboard and claim your reward.

Here's how the new format works:

• Event 1 kicks off on April 15th (00:00 CET) and runs through to April 30th
• Event 2 kicks off May 1st and runs through to mid-May, continuing every two weeks from there
• Each event resets independently — a fresh leaderboard, a fresh shot at the top, every two weeks

We've also updated how KoTH points are calculated. Now, the more risk you take, the more points you can earn. Points still reflect your wagers, but they also scale with each game's Return to Player (RTP). In other words, higher-risk games give you bigger point returns, adding a new layer of strategy to your climb.

How Points Work

Instead of being based only on how much you wager, points now also take into account the house edge of the game, which is the inverse of RTP.

In simple terms, the lower the RTP, the more points you'll earn for the same wager. Games with higher RTPs (closer to 100%) give fewer points, while games with lower RTPs give more. This balances competition so every game type contributes fairly — whether you're a slots player, a sports bettor, or someone who lives on Gamdom Originals.

The Formula

Points = Wager × (Game Edge ÷ 0.035)

• Wager = how much you bet
• Game Edge = (1 − RTP). For example, a 98% RTP game has a 2% edge.
• 0.035 = the baseline used to balance points across games.

Example

Let's say you wager $100 on a game with 98% RTP (2% house edge):

$100 × (0.02 ÷ 0.035) ≈ 57.14 points

You'll earn points faster on lower-RTP games, but you'll always get credit no matter what you play. The system is designed to be fair and transparent — your points always reflect your actual gameplay, regardless of which games you choose.

Event 1 kicks off April 15th and runs through to April 30th. Event 2 kicks off May 1st and runs through to mid-May — continuing every two weeks from there. Each event is completely independent, progress doesn't carry over, and every two weeks the leaderboard resets for a fresh race to the top.

The mid-month start date is calculated based on the number of days in the month, ensuring each event is as balanced as possible, regardless of the calendar. So whether it's a 28-day February or a 31-day July, both events in any given month are structured fairly.

At the end of each event, rewards are instantly credited to your account based on your final leaderboard position. No delays, no waiting — pure competition with immediate payouts the moment the leaderboard closes.

What This Means for Your Strategy

The shorter cycle changes how you should think about your climb. In a monthly format, the early leaders had a significant advantage, building up points over weeks that late entrants couldn't easily overcome. With Bi-Weekly KOTH, the window is tighter, and the competition is more dynamic. A strong second week can be enough to push you into a top position. Consistency across both events is what separates the contenders from the champions.

Daily KOTH

Daily battles are still very much part of the King of the Hill ecosystem. Fresh leaderboards reset every midnight CET, giving you nonstop chances to win and keep your momentum going between the Bi-Weekly events. Daily KOTH is a great way to stay sharp, stay competitive, and keep earning, even between the bigger bi-weekly prize pools.

Custom & Game-Specific KoTHs

From time to time, special leaderboards run for selected games or formats, all of which use the same points system. These custom events add an extra layer of variety to the KOTH experience and are worth keeping an eye out for. Whether it's a slots-specific leaderboard or a special event tied to a game launch, they're another way to compete and win.

Terms & Conditions

Joining King of the Hill is simple. Just play your favourite games and your wagers will automatically count towards the leaderboard. Here's what you need to know:
