Baccarat A: Bet on the winning side

Playing live baccarat has never been this easy and glamorous! Same with the land casino version, the objective in live baccarat is to predict which between the Player and the Banker will have a hand that is closer to 9. Make the right bet and win twice the amount of your wager!

Baccarat A offers a wide range of side bets for you to choose from. Increase your chances of winning by placing your money on side bets such as Perfect Pair and Either Pair.

Playing Baccarat A

Before starting your game of baccarat, you have to choose your chip size first. The following are the available chip denominations for you to choose from: 1, 5, 25, 100, 500 and 1,000.

Once you have chosen your chip size, you can now place your bets by clicking on the appropriate betting spot on the game table. You can only place your chips during the betting period.

Bets

There are 3 main bets you need to choose from to participate in Baccarat A. Additionally, there are 6 side bets where you can place your money to increase your chances of winning. The three main bets include the Player, Banker and Tie. As for the side bets, you have the following options:

  • P Pair - Pays if the first two cards dealt to the Player make up a pair
  • B Pair - Pays if the first two cards given to the Banker make up a pair
  • Perfect Pair - Pays 25:1 if two identical cards in terms of value and suit are dealt as the first two cards to either the Banker or the Player; Pays 200:1 if two identical cards in terms of value and suit are given to both the Banker and the Player
  • Either Pair - Pays if either the Banker or the Player has a pair
  • P Bonus - Pays when the Player  wins the round with a hand that totals 8, 9 or is higher by at least four points
  • B Bonus - Pays when the Banker wins the round on a natural 8 or 9 or by at least four points.

Gameplay

Once you’ve placed your bets, the dealer will then deal two cards to the player and two cards to the banker. Their total hand value is counted before the winner is determined. Whoever has the hand value closest to 9 wins.

If both the Player and the Banker have equal hand values, the result is a tie and the bets placed on the Player and the Banker are pushed while bets placed on Tie are paid. If any of the first two cards dealt to the Banker and Player totals 8 or 9, no additional cards will be dealt to either hand. But if the value of the initial two cards is between 0-7, a third card will be given. The Player’s hands are always given first.

Card values

Baccarat has its own counting system. In a hand, there are 2 to 3 cards and each card has its own value. To get the total value of the hand, the values of each card are summed up.

The card values in baccarat are as follows:

  • Aces are the lowest cards and are worth 1
  • Cards from 2 to 9 are worth their face values
  • 10s and face cards (Jacks, Queens and Kings) are worth 10.

If the total value of the cards go beyond 9, the tens digit is dropped and if a hand consists of a face card and a numbered card, only the value of the numbered card is considered.

Only the numeric value of the cards are important in counting the total value of hands in baccarat. Except in the side bets, their suits are not important.

Payouts

The payouts in Baccarat A depends on the type of bet you placed. Main bets pay differently from side bets which have more outcomes.

Check below to find out how much the bets pay:

Main bet payouts:

  • The Player bet rewards 1:1
  • The Banker bet rewards 0.95:1 (a 5% commission is charged)
  • Tie bet rewards 8:1
