First Person Blackjack: Five times the fun

Evolution Gaming’s First Person Blackjack is played with 8 standard 52-card decks. The game follows the basic rules of blackjack and improves upon it by letting you place 5 bets in one session, increasing your chances of winning!

The card values in blackjack are as follows:

  • Cards from 2 to 10 are worth their face values
  • Face cards namely Jacks, Queens and Kings are worth 10 each
  • Aces can be worth 11 or 1 depending on which value is most favourable to the hand.

Playing First Person Blackjack

To start a game of First Person Blackjack, place your bets on any of the five main bet spots on the table and press the Deal Now button. The virtual dealer then deals one card face up to all active bet spots including the dealer’s before dealing the second card face up to all active bet spots. The dealer’s second card is dealt face down.

The cards’ total counts are determined before you get to decide which action to make afterwards. If the value of your initial cards totals to 21, you have a blackjack and you automatically win.

If the dealer’s card is an Ace, you can purchase insurance so you can protect yourself from significant losses in case the dealer’s hand is a blackjack. Insurance is worth half the price of your main bet.

The virtual dealer checks if their cards are equal to a blackjack. If it’s a blackjack, the dealer wins and you lose. If you and the dealer both have blackjacks, the game ends in a push and your bet is returned. But if the dealer’s hand is not a blackjack, you have the option to Hit, Split, Stand or Double Down:

  • Split - Separates the two cards into two different hands with separate bets; you can decide to Hit and Stand for both hands
  • Double Down - Doubles your bet and gives you another card; available if the value of your hand is not 21
  • Hit - Gives you another card
  • Stand - Holds on to your cards.

If your hand’s total exceeds 21, it’s a bust and you lose your bet. Once all the hands are decided for, the dealer’s flipped card is revealed. If the dealer’s hand is 16 or less, they will Hit until the sum reaches 17 or more.

You win if the dealer’s hand busts or is lower than your card.
